I personally prefer acrylic to oil for two reasons, namely the smell of the oil and the longer time to cure. Although recent technology provides more options for odorless oil paints or water soluble ones, acrylic stays my favorite.
However, oil paints have certain characteristic that acrylic paints don’t. Oil paints offers smooth blending and its longer time to cure also has benefit that you can finish your painting next day. Yet, I think I need to explore oil painting to complete my experience, only that I need a space with better air ventilation.
